JAMMU, Mar 17: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) J&K is going to hold its two days triennial conference at Chinta Mani Trust Katra on March 23, 24 in which hundreds of delegates from all the districts of J&K and Ladakh belonging to manufacturing, construction, banking, postal, BSNL and other fields will deliberate on various important issues confronting the working classes in Government, semi Government and private sectors.
In a press conference here today Ashok Choudhary, organizing secretary BMS J&K and Ladakh informed that the 16th triennial conference of BMS is being organized in line with legacy of over 48 years of BMS in J&K and this conference will set the agenda and target of BMS for struggle on issues to be taken up in the conference for coming years.
The charter of demands upon which BMS J&K will focus in coming years was also released today by Ashok Choudhary in form of poster and these demands included linking of minimum wages with DA in J&K, ensuring coverage of ESI and EPF in all establishments, solving issues of daily wagers, contractual workers and NHM employees, bringing Aanganwadi workers and helpers into the fold of minimum wages, central minimum wages for power projects on Chenab river, ensuring 80 per cent local employment in all projects and industry, providing Rs 3000 monthly pension as social security to construction workers, stoppage of outsourcing jobs to contractor workers in all sectors, establishment of Skill Employment Corporation in J&K and Ladakh and establishment of Shrine Board for Dharmarth Trust and ensuring wages to its employees on pattern of SMVDB.
The conference will pass important resolutions while fixing targets for next three years to make inroads for BMS in left out sectors.
BMS national organizing secretary B. Surendren and North India organizing secretary Pawan Kumar along with other senior functionaries of BMS and various trade unionists will grace the occasion and new State Executive Committee of BMS will be elected for next three years.
Neelam Sharma, general secretary BMS J&K; Harbans Choudhary, working president BMS J&K; Ravi Hans, Rohit Seth, Mukesh Kumar-secretaries BMS J&K; Shamsher Chand, Ghar Deen, Sewa Ram, Subash Chander and others were also present in the press conference.
