REASI, Oct 3: During the ongoing folk workshop, a Dogri play “Mela basoye da” was today staged by Triple “A” Performing Arts Reasi. The play was staged with the financial assistance from the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
On the occasion, Neeraj Badyar Dy SP Reasi was the Chief Guest while principal GZSM Degree College has presided over the function.
Vijay Sharma SHO Reasi was the special guest during the event.
The play “Mela basoye da” written by Sathya Akademy Awardee Raj Rahee & Directed by M Akram Khan and is based on Baisakhi festival which is celebrated on 13 April every year at Mahadev Reasi.
Story of the play was around two teen age friends Raji & Subash who are very particular to witness the said mela every year with colourful Dogra dress and enjoying the local sweets like Jalebi, Kayur & pakoda etc. in the shops of the mela and also enjoyed local dance & wrestling.
Play also depicts the folk culture of dogras like Haran & Jatter etc.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest, Neeraj Badyar Dy SP Reasi said that both the teachers and students should be disciplined as well as dedicated in their efforts to improve the academic environment through such type of workshop and congratulation to the participants who present beautiful dogri play.
College Staff and Students present and witnessed the performance of the artists.
Experts of the workshop who were present on the occasion included Raj Rahi, Shadab Khan, Mohinder Bhardwaj, Akram Khan, Neha Chouhaan, Rajesh Ajnabi, Raja Amir khan, J.R.Jackson, Bodh Raj Vardaan, and Kishor Atri.
