Triple storey house damaged, people demand fire station

RAMBAN, Apr 26: A triple storey house was damaged in fire in Hewgan area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramsu Police Station.
As per police sources, fire broke out in the triple storey house of Bishan Chand, son of Mohar Singh in Hegwan early morning probably due to short circuit.
On getting information, police team led by SHO Ramsu Dr Amit Gupta rushed to the spot and with the help of locals and army personnel started operation to douse the flames. Fire fighters along with tenders were also rushed to the spot.

No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Ramsu police has taken cognizance in this regard.
Meanwhile, the locals expressed concern over the delay in the arrival of fire tenders and demanded fire station at Ukhral.
“Since 2002, we are demanding fire station at Ukhral, but nothing has been done till today”, Sarpanch Panchal A Ukhral Niranjan Singh Sumbria said, adding that many fire incidents had taken place in the past resulting into loss of property worth several lakhs and loss of precious lives also.
