Truck carrying FCI ration catches fire

RAMBAN, July 11: A truck loaded with FCI ration (rice) meant for Doda, caught fire due to a short circuit at Janghi Morh area of Batote, on Jmu-Sgr NH here today.
According to the details, the truck bearing registration number JK02AD-8393 caught fire due to a short circuit in the cabin of the vehicle.
The driver of the truck Suresh Kumar Sharma as soon as saw flames emitting out of the engine parked the vehicle alongside the road at Janghi Morh Batote and jumped out of the vehicle and informed the Police.
On receiving information SHO Police Station Batote, Inspector Vikram Parihar along with a rescue team of Police along with a fire tender of Fire and Emergency Services Department from Batote reached the spot and doused the fire.
No casualty or injury was reported, however vehicles suffered extensive damages.
They said a large number of sacks of rice were destroyed.
SHO Police Station Batote, Inspector Vikram Parihar said no casualty or injury to anyone was reported in this incident.
