Truck driver nabbed with 2 kg Bukki on Mughal Road

RAJOURI, July 8: The security forces arrested a truck driver on Mughal Road in Poshana area and recovered 2 kg of Bukki (poppy flowers) from his possession this evening.
Official sources said that a joint team of Army and Police during naka at Poshana led by SI Naresh Kumar intercepted a truck coming from Kashmir side to Jammu. During physical search of the vehicle bearing registration number JK02BT- 1854. The police team recovered one plastic bag filled with Poppy flowers (Bukki), weighing about 2 Kilograms from one of the empty compartment of the truck. The vehicle was seized and its driver was arrested.
In this regard case FIR No. 203/2022 U/S 8 /15 of NDPS Act stands registered against the accused persons at Police Station Surankote & investigation has been geared up to ascertain the source and other persons involved in smuggling of contraband. The police did not share the identity of the accused driver claiming that it may hamper the process of investigation with regard to others associated with the gang of smugglars.
