JAMMU, Dec 25: A morning walker was knocked to death by a speeding truck at Bishnah area this morning.
A police official said Parmod Kumar son of Bant Singh of Chak Avtara was walking on Ring Road around 5 am today when he was hit by a truck (PB35-Z0864).
“He died on-the-spot,” said the police official.
According to him, the driver of the vehicle has fled from the spot after commissioning of the crime while his vehicle has been seized and a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation started.
A team has also been constituted to arrest the absconding driver, he said.
