RAJOURI, Aug 28: The police foiled smuggling bid in Nowshera area and seized a truck loaded with 17 bovine animals, moving towards Kashmir via Mughal Road.
Official sources said that during intervening night of Aug 27/28, police party from Police Station Nowshera during Naka at Rajal, on Jammu- Poonch highway intercepted a truck No. JK 02 BS /0445 loaded with 17 bovine animals and reportedly on way towards Kashmir.
The truck along with animals was seized and its driver-Mohd Safeer, son of Mohd Rafiq, resident of Poonch along with helper Shoket Ali, son of Lal Hussain of RS Pura, has been arrested. A case FIR No. 174 under section 188 IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Nowshera.
