SAMBA, May 31: Due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in the afternoon in Samba area, a truck bearing Registration Number, JK 08 K-6007 overturned in the middle of the Highway near Main Chowk of the town here, today after the driver lost control over the vehicle.
The accident took place near the Main Chowk on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway. The truck was loaded with bananas and was on way from Kathua towards Jammu. But after reaching Samba, the driver suddenly lost his balance due to heavy rains and thunderstorm and the vehicle turned turtle.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
However, the Samba police swung into action to resume the traffic on the Highway which got disrupted for some time due to accident. The police also registered a case in this regard and has started further investigation.
