KISHTWAR, July 9: Driver of a loaded truck here today was killed and another person on board the vehicle was injured after the truck skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.
The ill fated truck bearing registration number JK14D/5478 was coming from Doda and moving towards Kishtwar and when it reached near zero point on Drabshalla Bridge, it rolled down from the road and landed in a deep gorge.
Immediately after the accident locals with the help of cops started rescue operation and shifted the critically injured driver and another person with him to CHC Thathri for treatment where the doctors declared the driver as brought dead.
The deceased driver has been identified as Chaman Lal, son of Kaku Ram, resident of, Baggar, Doda while the injured person was identified as Ashwani Kumar.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
