Trucker among two arrested with poppy straw, illicit liquor

RAMBAN, Feb 12: Banihal Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two persons including a trucker along with poppy straw and illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Banihal laid a naka at T Chowk and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB10DS-7791.
During search, police team recovered 6 kilograms of poppy straw from the cabin of the vehicle and arrested the trucker, who was identified as Amarjit Singh, son of Mohinder Singh of Gujar Colony Ludhiana Punjab.
Meanwhile, in another incident, the team from Police Station Banihal arrested a man along with seven bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested person was identified as Sajad Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gulzar Ahmad of Veerinag Panzu Tehsil Dooru District Anantnag.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Insp Naeem-ul-Haq made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Nissar Khoja and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
