RAMBAN, Mar 19: Jawahar Tunnel Police arrested a trucker along with 20 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Jawahar Tunnel laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB11BY-8902.
During checking, police team recovered 20 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Jagdish Singh, son of Sohan Singh of Sadhopur Tehsil Malerkotla District Sangrur, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 52/2022 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Jawahar Tunnel PSI Harish Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Nayeem-ul-Haq, SDPO Banihal Nissar Ahmed Khoja and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
