JAMMU, June 30: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested a trucker and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a Jammu bound truck bearing registration number JK02CS-3387.
During checking, police team recovered 4.100 kilograms of poppy straw from the truck and arrested the trucker, who was identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Bhatidhar Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch.
A case FIR Number 165/2022 under Section 8/15/25 NDPS Act has been registered against the arrested trucker at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
