UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: Police arrested a trucker and his associate along with 34 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, a team from Udhampur police station intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB6D-4488 at Jakheni Chowk.
During checking, police recovered 34 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The accused have been identified as Kalwinder Singh, son of Sobha Singh and Shakti Singh, son of Manhor Singh, both residents of Gurdaspur Punjab.
A case under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Udhampur and investigation started.
