JAMMU, Jan 1: Nagrota police arrested a truck driver along with over 2.25 quintals of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Nagrota police station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK08B-1980.
During checking, police recovered 2.25 quintals and 400 grams poppy straw and arrested the truck driver, who has been identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Gharu Ram, a resident of Rakh Baddali, district Udhampur.
A case under FIR number 2/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota police station Vinod Kumar Kundal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khaliq Choudhary.
