Trucker held with 33 kg of poppy straw

JAMMU, Nov 13: A truck driver was arrested today by Jhajjar Kotli after 33 kg of poppy straw was recovered in his vehicle.
The police recovered the contraband in the Punjab-bound truck bearing Registration Number PB10CC-0195 when it was intercepted on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Suketar naka, said a police official.
He said that the accused was identified as Sunny son of Kamal Kumar of Jalandhar district (Punjab). A case was registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, the official said, adding an investigation is on in the case.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team headed by Inspector Rajesh Khajuria, SHO, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
