KISHTWAR, Dec 5: A driver was killed, when the truck he was driving rolled down in gorge near Kuna More area, falling under the jurisdiction of Kishtwar police station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JKO2U-2169, was on its way to Thathri from Bunjwah, when the driver lost control over the truck and it landed into gorge at Kuna More, resulting into serious injuries to the driver.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured driver to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Thathri, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased identified as Mohammad Ashraf of Jathi, District Doda has been shifted to mortuary room of SDH Thathri for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
Locals alleged that the road is in worst condition for the past three years, which had resulted into accidents. Administration should take immediate steps to repair the road so as to save precious lives.
A case in this regard has been registered at Kishtwar police station and investigation started.
