KARGIL, Sept 2: Regional convener, Northern region, Tibet Support Group (TSG), Phonsok Ladakhi today formed its Kargil unit.
Addressing a press conference here today, Phonsok Ladakhi accompanied by Mansoor Ahmad and Nabi Zia (founding members of Kargil unit) announced the formation of Kargil unit.
Phonsok told media persons that TSG Kargil unit has been formed in solidarity with the Tibet issue and the focus of the Group will be on developing more gross roots support and creating awareness on Tibet amongst the Indians through programs focusing on youth, students and women.
He said the objective of the Group is to promote the cause of Tibet and help the Tibetans to regain their basic human freedom rights and national dignity and expand the support base to uphold the autonomy of the Tibet support groups to carry the autonomy of the Tibet support groups to carry outreach efforts at national, regional and local levels.
Phonsok said that the Kargil unit will identify all such issues of common interest pertaining to India-Tibet and reach out to masses by expanding their work in smaller cities and towns to pressure China to stop environmental vandalism in Tibet.
