NEW DELHI, June 28: Turmeric and jeera prices rose upto Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today largely on buying support from retailers and stockists amid paucity of stocks due to restricted arrivals from producing belts.
Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 7,700-12,400 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also increased by Rs 200 each to finish at Rs 11,100-11,300 and Rs 14,400-14,700 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying by retailers and stockists against restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
Following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 14,500-19,500, black pepper (per kg) 775-975, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,450 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,700.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 690-740, cardamom (colour robin) 670-730, cardamom bold 720-740, cardamom extra (bold) 890-940 and cloves (kg) 950-1,000. (PTI)
