JAMMU, Dec 15: To prevent youth from getting into the habit of consuming drugs and other psychotropic substances, President, Teachers Welfare Association, Jasmeet Singh Madaan has urged Minister for Education and Medical Education, Sakina Ittoo to constitute “Anti Drug Youth Force” in all Hr. Sec Schools and Colleges for a wider awareness be made available against its abuse.
As consumption of drugs and other intoxicants by youths are on the rise and it is spreading its tentacles in our society at a very rapid pace because of easy money lucrative business, to snub its growth and pace with double effort is the need of this hour and it can be made possible if our youth and students are informed at proper stage and time. So it is imperative that we should constitute “Anti Drug Youth Force” in every Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges throughout Union Territory of J&K,” Madaan said in a statement.
He urged Ittoo to come forward and under the leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah make the UT drug free state by constituting “Anti Drug Youth Force” which will act as a strong deterrent against its use and sale.
