JAMMU, Apr 1: Teacher’s Welfare Association President, Jasmeet Singh Madaan has urged Minister for Education, Sakina Ittoo, Commissioner Secretary and Director, School Education to change rural school timings from 9.00 AM to 3.00 PM as mercury has started plummeting and weather has improved considerably.
“Already the rural school timings has changed in Kashmir Valley which is a welcome move keeping in view the weather conditions, the school timings for rural areas in Jammu should also be changed from 9.00 A.M. to 3.00 P.M. so that students can heave a sigh of relief from the scorching heat as has been done in the month of October last,” Madaan said.
The order for change in school timings generally comes into effect from 1st May but now a days the environment situation has drastically changed and already heat wave has started and thus it becomes imperative to change the school timings accordingly, he added.
