JAMMU, Aug 24: Police arrested two absconders, who were evading their arrest since long, here today.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Peer Mitha Police Station conducted raid in RS Pura area and nabbed an absconder, who was at large since long.
The accused has been identified as Rajesh Kumar (38), son of Chuni Lal of Chakrohi, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 73/2009 under Section 379 RPC with Police Station City Jammu. Warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him by the Court.
The accused was handed over to Police Station City for further execution of warrant.
Police team led by SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Inayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Satish Kumar, SP City PD Nitya and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Meanwhile, a team from Jourian Police Post apprehended an absconder, who was at large since 1991.
The arrested person has been identified as Omkar Singh, son of Choor Singh of Chopar Tehsil Khour, at present Jourian.
He was wanted in a case registered in 1985 under Excise Act at Police Station Akhnoor.
The accused was produced before Court of Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu which fined him to the tune of Rs 5000.
The arrest was made by Incharge Police Post Jourian SI Sudesh Kumar under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pardeep Sharma and SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma.
