JAMMU, Oct 5: Police today arrested two absconders, who were involved in an Arms and Narcotic Act case and were evading their arrest for the past nine years.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Pacca Danga Police Station arrested an absconder identified as Charanjeet Singh alias Tona, son of Sardar Singh of Model Town, Gangyal from Digiana.
His accomplice identified as Gurmeet Singh alias Meeta, son of Sumer Singh of Digiana was arrested from New Plot, he added.
Both the accused were involved in a case registered with Pacca Danga Police Station under FIR number 223/2004 and under Section 3/25 Arms Act and 8/17/18 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
He added that Charanjeet Singh is a hardcore criminal and was wanted in different cases registered with Gandhi Nagar and Satwari Police Stations.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police party led by SHO Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Kulbir Handa and SP City Jatinder Singh Johar.
