JAMMU, May 26: Channi Himmat Police arrested two persons for extorting money.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Station Channi Himmat stating that two persons extorted money by threatening him of getting implicated in a police case involving a girl.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 76/2022 under Sections 386, 504 and 506 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
On specific information, a team from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma conducted raid and arrested both the extortionists.
The arrested persons were identified as Ravi Kumar and Sourav Sharma.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
