Two arrested for stealing money from mosque in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, May 8: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two burglars for stealing money from donation box of mosque in this north Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said a complaint was lodged in Police Station Kunzar, Tangmarg, in Baramulla by the Management of a local mosque that some unidentified persons had broken open the donation box of the mosque and decamped with cash.
He said a case under relevant law was registered and investigation was initiated by PS Kunzar. CCTV footage was obtained and accordingly was shared on media for identification of the persons, he said , adding many suspected persons of the area were brought to Police Station for questioning.
However, one suspect identified as Abdul Majid Lone, resident of Cheatham Chanpora Tangmarg confessed his involvement in the burglary during the questioning.
Lone also identified another person Imran Hussain Mir, a resident of Mirgund, who was involved in the crime. Both the persons have been arrested and further investigation taken up, he said.
