Two arrested with heroin, banned syrup bottles, capsules

JAMMU, May 12: Two drug peddlers have been arrested along with heroin, banned syrup bottles and intoxicant capsules.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar police station laid a naka at Sanjay Nagar Chowk and signaled a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BB /7274 to stop for checking.
On seeing cops, the motorcyclist tried to run away but was chased and caught.
During checking, police recovered 2 grams heroin worth several thousands, 15 banned syrup bottles and 382 intoxicant capsules from the rider and his associate.
Police arrested both the persons, who have been identified as Gurvir Singh, son of Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Digiana and Harvinder Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Digiana Camp.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered in this regard at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP(P) Mir Imtiyaz and assisted by Incharge Digiana police post SI Pawan Dogra made the arrest under the supervision of Incharge SDPO South Vishal Manhas and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
