SAMBA, May 22: Two persons have been arrested for outraging the modesty of a girl in Kartholi Dhiansar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bari Brahmana police station.
As per police sources, a girl hailing from Kartholi Dhiansar area had gone to attend nature’s call, when two persons identified as Harminder Singh, son of Puran Singh, a resident of Sarore Adda and Hem Raj, son of Rasila Ram of Doda district, at present Dhiansar forcibly took her to an abandoned house and raped her.
The accused threatened the victim of dire consequences and later escaped from the spot.
The girl narrated the ordeal to her family members, who lodged complaint in this regard with Bari Brahmana police station.
After registering a case under Section 376 RPC, a team from Bari Brahmana police station conducted raid and nabbed both the rapists.
The girl was handed over to family members after conducting medical examination.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bari Brahmana, Inspector YP Jamwal made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Samba, Jog Inder Singh.
