JAMMU, Mar 10: Satwari police arrested two persons along with poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Satwari police station laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JKO2BH-8262.
During checking, police recovered 3 kilograms poppy straw from the possession of the rider and his associate and arrested them on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Mehmood Shah, son of Magsood Shah of Chak Tara and Rohit Kumar alias Binny, son of Satish Kumar of Darsopur, Miran Sahib.
A case under FIR Number 49/16 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at police station Satwari and investigation started.
Police team led by AS1 Mohammad Akram and SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
