Two arrested for sale of illicit liquor

SAMBA, June 22:  Samba Police has arrested two persons for the sale of illicit liquor and seized five litres of English Rum and 28 pouches of liquor from them during surprise checking at Nanak Chak falling under PP Supwal and Vijaypur respectively.
According to reports Supwal Police headed by IC PP under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Samba Tanveer Ahmed arrested one person namely Sucha Lal S/o Dharam Chand R/o Nanak Chak with five litres of liquor (English Rum) which he was selling to customers at Nanak Chak. In this connection Case FIR No.129 U/S 50-A Excise Act stands registered at P/S Samba and investigation is taken up.
Similarly yet another incident, a police party of P/S Vijaypur headed by SHO Vijaypur under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and also in coordination with  a team of DSB Samba intercepted one person namely Ashok Kumar S/o Inderjeet Caste Jatt R/o Badian Camp who was on his scooter bearing No. JKo2M 6142 and while checking the scooter 28 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. The accused person was arrested on spot and in this connection Case FIR No 89/17 under Section 48 Excise Act stands registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation is going on.
Their arrest is the part of continuous drive against the menace of the drugs and distillation of illicit liquor and its sale launched by District Police Samba under the directions of Sr. Superintendent of Police, Samba  Anil Magotra.
