UDHAMPUR, July 8: Two persons were arrested for carrying dried poppy seeds at Deahari, Plassan in Ramanagr, here today.
According to the police report, a police party on patrolling duty noticed the accused persons, who were carrying two plastic bags in their hands and coming from Plassan towards Main road.
On seeing the police party, both the attempt to flee but were apprehended. During questioning, they disclosed their names as Yasser Ali, son of Gafoor Ahmed of Dehari Mohra Plassan, Tehsil Ramnagar and Roshan Lal, son of Om Parkash Sharma of Kirmoo Mohra Khaira, Tehsil Ramnagar.
During the checking and frisking, dried poppy seeds were recovered from the possession. Police seized the contraband-like material arrested the duo for further investigation.
A case FIR No. 72/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this regard at Ramnagar Police Station.
