RAMBAN, Apr 12: Jawahar Tunnel Police arrested two persons along with 29 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, during routine checking a team from Police Post Jawahar Tunnel intercepted a truck bearing registration number RJ19G-7867.
During checking, police team recovered 29 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Sushil Kumar (driver), son of Satish Kumar and Ranjit Kumar (owner), son of Raj Kumar, both residents of Makhu, Tehsil Zira District Ferozpur, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 80/2022 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Jawahar Tunnel PSI Harish Kumar made the arrests under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Nayeem-ul-Haq, SDPO Banihal Nissar Ahmed Khoja and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
