UDHAMPUR, Sept 16: Udhampur Police today arrested two bike lifters and recovered a stolen bike on their disclosure.
Based on a complaint received from a person namely Des Raj son of Bindu Ram of Kimtah Plater (Majalta, Udhampur) that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK08D-3677 has been stolen by some unknown person from outside his house, a case FIR Number 73/2023 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Majalta and search was started.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Station Majalta headed by SHO Inspector Rakesh Kumar rounded up several suspects. During sustained questioning, two suspects namely Sher Ali son of Kohd Sadiq of Plater (Majalta) and Mohd Sher Khan son of Mohd Hanief of Satwari (Jammu) broke down and confessed their involvement in the theft of the bike.
Both the accused persons were arrested and on their disclosure the stolen bike was recovered. Further investigation of the case was going on
