Two chain snatchers arrested

KATHUA, Oct 5: Kathua Police arrested two chain snatchers along with stolen items worth Rs 31,500.
As per police sources, on October 1 this year, a case was registered at Police Station Kathua in connection with theft vide FIR Number 431/2021 under Section 382 IPC.
Acting on the same, police party of Police Station Kathua led by SHO Inspector Om Parkash Chib under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Shammi Kumar and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal arrested two chain snatchers who were evading their arrest.
During sustained questioning both of the accused confessed their involvement and on their disclosure stolen items worth Rs 31,500 were recovered.
The arrested persons were identified as Kapil Kumar of Badala District Kathua and Sunil Dutt of Chak Drab Khan District Kathua. They not only snatched gold chains but also high-end smartphones.
Further investigation into the case is going on and their involvement in any other case cannot be ruled out.
