JAMMU, Aug 11: In separate cases, two persons committed suicide today by consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residences in city outskirts.
“Sahil Sharma (27) son of Dwarka Nath, resident of Karamala (R S Pura) allegedly consumed poison at his home during the intervening night of Aug 10 and today. He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu where he passed away at about 2.45 AM today,” a police official said.
He said Arnia police had initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPc in this connection while the body of the deceased was handed over to the family after postmortem.
Meanwhile, a man namely Raj Kumar (45) son of Makhan Chand, resident of Rehari Colony, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence around midnight of August 10. He was taken to GMCH Jammu for treatment but he died today at 10 AM during treatment in the hospital.
The body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while Sarwal police had initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC in this connection.
