JAMMU, Mar 10: In separate incidents during the last 24 hours, two persons committed suicide by hanging self.
Reports from Katra said that a youth namely Puran Chand (18), son of Guddu of Arlie Katra, ended his life by hanging himself from a tree near Bhairon Mandir on way to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
His body was noticed by some locals who informed the Police. Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained.
In a similar incident at village Dhanu in Ramnagar, one Hukam Singh, son of Mansa Ram, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling hook at his residence.
Meanwhile, a youth was washed away in flash floods while crossing Bandarban Nallah in Udhampur, last night. The deceased, identified as Ravi Kumar (25), son of Shankar Dass of Simti Ramnagar, was on his way to home when the flash floods washed him away. The dead body was recovered today from the Nallah.
