Two Cong workers shot at

Srinagar, Nov 13: Unidentified gunmen this evening fired at and injured two Congress workers in the North Kashmir district of Bandipora.
Police sources said that two Pheran clad gunmen fired at Abdul Majid Khan son of Abdul Gani Khan and Mudasir Ahmad Baba at Barzulla in district Bandipora this evening.
Baba received bullet in his abdomen and Khan in his arm and were removed to Bandipora Hospital and then to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar for treatment. Baba is said to be critical while Khan is out of danger.
Police and Army rushed to the village to assess the situation. However, residents of the area came out on streets in protest against the attack on two Congress workers and blamed Personal Security Officer of local MLA for the firing.
They are demanding arrest of the MLA’s PSO.
Villagers said that there was a long pending dispute over a village road between the two Mohallas of the village. But the dispute was recently resolved.
