Two-day ‘Anushthan’ begins at Kathua Campus

KATHUA, Feb 1: “Anushthan”, the two-day Business-cum-Tech Fest by the Kathua Campus of Jammu University, was inaugurated today by JU Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor appreciated the recent upgradations that have taken place in the Campus during the past few months. He congratulated the staff and students of the Campus for organizing this maiden event out of available resources and assured his all support to Kathua Campus in its further developmental initiatives. Appreciating the team spirit with which the Campus was moving towards the desired direction under leadership of Prof Neelu Rohmetra, the Vice-Chancellor informed that construction works of the Campus premises would soon commence on the land allotted by the State Government.
Earlier in her welcome address, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus, thanked Prof Ishar for his continuous support to Kathua Campus. She said that life is got to be seen as “Anushthan” wherein we transact ourselves each day with a sense of contribution.
Outlining the Campus’s plan of action for the future, Prof Neelu Rohmetra said that “Anushthan” is just a beginning towards grand “Yagna”. Kathua campus will be organizing such events at regular intervals, including a National Conference in Kathua some time later this year, she added.
Speaking on the occasion, special guest, P.K. Mittal, Vice President of Chenab Textile Mills pointed out that in a globalizing world opportunities for professionals existed all over the world and they were not bound by the limitations of their state or national markets.
Others who spoke on the occasion Included Prof B.C. Sharma, Dean Student Placements, JU, Prof Keshav Sharma, Chief Coordinator Campuses and Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare.
Ten teams from various institutions across the State participated in the various events organized on the Ist Day (Business day) of the festival. The events were Business quiz, SCaM(selling, convincing and marketing) and Ad Nirman.
The academic activity was followed by cultural bonanza towards the evening. The participating teams also interacted with the alumni of University of Jammu.
The Business -cum-Tech Fest at Kathua is an initiative to boost the professional interactions through the medium of festivity, which seek to develop students, culminating into ultimate excellence in corporate work situations.
