JAMMU, Nov 7: A two-day Gojri Writers Conference started here today at J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
The Conference was inaugurated amidst presentation of Gojri Dance by Shazia Choudhary and Mohd Rafeeq and group.
After this two books were released by Abdul Gani Kohli, Former Minister and these books were written by Abdul Hameed Kasana and Babar Afzal.
Irshad Hussain Choudhary, Ahmad Din Shanas, Anil Sehgal and Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL were also present on the occasion in which internationally acclaimed artist of J&K, Seema Anil Sehgal was honoured for her contribution to the field of music.
At the outset, Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL delivered welcome address after which Abdul Gani Jagal talked on Cultural Heritage of Gujjars.
The chief guest Anil Sehgal lauded the efforts of JKAACL in promoting literature and culture of J&K.
In his presidential address Abdul Ghani Kohli stressed upon the need to encourage new generation of writers to write on various aspects of socio themes.
Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor cum Cultural Officer JKAACL presented vote of thanks.
In paper reading session, Mohd. Mansha Khaki and Dr. Abdul Wahid Qadri presented their papers on ‘Baba Ji Saab Larvi Gi Poonch Ma Aamad’ and ‘Gujjar Qoom Gi Pasmandgi Gi Wajuhaat’. The session was presided over by Ghulam Sarvar Chouhan and Master Mohd Bashir Poswal.
In Gojri music programme, Bashir Ahmad Mastana, renowned Gojri singer presented a Gojri song. After this Razia Ashraf and party, Parveena Jan and party and Tasleema Jan and party mesmerized the audience by their songs. The artists were supported by renowned musicians like Rakesh Anand on Flute, Sahil Jasotra on Tabla, Sunil Sharma on Syth and Rakesh Kumar on Octopad.
At conclusion of the event, poetry session was held in which Rana Abrar, Saraj-u-Din Sani, Sadeeq Ahmad Sadique, Shazia Choudhary, Mohd. Rasheed Qadeeri, Abdul Qayoom Betab, Haji Mohd Zaman, Mohd. Bashir Khaki, Jan Mohd. Haqeem, Gh. Sarwar Chouhan, Noor Mohd Majrooh, Mohd Bashir Lohar and K.D Maini recited their poems.
