UDHAMPUR, Mar 18: The two-day Jammu Lok Mela organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala in collaboration with District Administration, Udhampur concluded here today.
MLA Pawan Gupta was chief guest on the occasion.
Additional Secretary, JKAACL Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Programme Officer, North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala Rajesh Bassi were also present on the occasion.
In his address Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that Jammu region is known for its multilingual, multi cultural and ethical diversity and J&K Cultural Academy has initiated steps towards documentation and preservation of traditional folk and heritage of the State.
He further said that Jammu Lok Melas are the beginning and will continue as a regular feature and more such mega events will be organised to promote literature and art of the State.
The folk parties who kept the audience spell bound included , Angroo Ram and party (Ramnagar), Kavita Devi and party (Panjour), Javid Singh and party (Pancher), Basant Ram and party (Ramnagar), Anant Ram and party (Ramnagar), Dev Raj and party (Ramnagar), Mukhtiar Singh and party (Reasi), Prithivi Singh and party (Udhampur), Godavari Devi and party(Sujan Dhar)and Joginder Dubey and party (Ramnagar).
