UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: A 2-day training programme on “Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS)”, commenced today at Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), here.
Twelve officers of J&K Police from various units are participating in the Training Programme. Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) is a plan scheme conceived in the light of experience of a non-plan scheme namely – Common Integrated Police Application (CIPA).
CCTNS is a Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of Government of India. It aims at creating a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of policing through adopting evaluation of IT-enabled-state-of-the-art tracking system around ‘Investigation of crime and detection of criminals’.
The Course was inaugurated by Mohan Lal (SSP) Deputy Director (Indoor Trainings) SKPA. During his inaugural address, Mohan Lal said that the two-day training programme is organized with the target to benefit the officers of the J&K Police and to make them aware of the various features of the CCTNS project and the proper way to manage the project for the benefit of the Department. He also said that the learning and the implementation of CCTNS project is enhanced tool for investigation, ability to detect crime patterns through modus operandi across the State/UT and ability to analysis road incidents and other accidents.
The Inaugural session was also attended by Vinay Kumar (SSP) Deputy Director (Administration) SKPA. The Course is being coordinated by Sunmati Gupta, Deputy SP, AD(Q) and assisted by Rohit Gupta, Inspector (C).
