BARI BRAHMANA, Oct 24: A Two day training programme on soil health management organized by directorate of agriculture production and famer’s welfare concluded here today.
MLA Vijaypur, Chander Parkash Ganga presided over function as a Chief guest and handed over certificates of participation to around 50 farmers of district Samba.
The Training Programme was part of “Capacity Building’ Component of HADP Project 19-J&K Soil and Land Resources Information Systems for Planning and Soil Health Management (JKSLRI) for the Year 2024-25.
Speaking on the occasion, Chander Parkash Ganga asked the farmers to adopt latest techniques in farming and take maximum benefit from projects under HADP Scheme.
On 1st day, Suresh Kumar Khajuria, Divisional Soil Survey Officer Jammu welcomed the participant Farmers and Resource persons in the Training Programme.
Dr Shalini Khajuria PA (Trg) , Krishi Vigyan Kender (SKUAST-J) Samba gave presentation on the topic ‘Sustainable Soil Health Management’.
Aman Jyoti Sharma, Agriculture Chemist from Directorate of Agriculture Jammu gave presentation on the topic ‘Judicious use of Fertilizers’ followed by presentation by Dr Neeraj Rajwal, Assistant Soil Chemist, on the topic ‘Soil Health Card Scheme and its implementation in Jammu division’.
On 2nd day, Suresh Kumar Khajuria made a presentation on ‘Physical properties of Soils and their importance in crop production’ and Vivek Mahajan SMS-III presented status of Soil Health Card Scheme in Samba district.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Aadil Rashid Asstt Soil Survey Officer.
