JAMMU, Mar 26: Two drug peddlers have been arrested with poppy straw, country made liquor and heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Digiana Police Post laid a naka and apprehended a man along with 8 kilograms of poppy straw and 60 bottles of country made liquor.
The arrested person has been identified as Balbir Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal of Nanak Nagar, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 74/19 under section 8/15 NDPS Act and 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Miran Sahib Police Station laid a naka near Indira Nagar and arrested a drug peddler along with 1.50 grams heroin.
The accused has been identified as Akash, son of Rattan Lal, a resident of Kotli Shah Doula.
A case under FIR Number 33/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Miran Sahib Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
