Two drug peddlers arrested with ganja, heroin

JAMMU, Dec 31: Janipur and Satwari Police arrested two drug peddler and recovered ganja and heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Ajaz Haider laid a naka at Upper Roop Nagar and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing cops, the pedestrian tried to escape, but was overpowered and nabbed.
During checking, police team recovered around 150 grams ganja from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Kabi Raj Sahu, son of Panu Sahu, a resident of Orissa, at present Upper Roop Nagar District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 135/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Satwari led by SHO Inspector Sameer Jiilani laid a naka and apprehended a drug peddler along with 3 grams heroin.
The arrested person was identified as Vikramjeet Singh, a resident of Bhour Camp, District Jammu.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered by Satwari Police and investigation started.
