Two drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Apr 20: Bahu Fort Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 43 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali and assisted by PSI Sunil Singh under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma laid a naka near Railway bridge and intercepted a passenger auto bearing registration number JK02BB-5975.
During checking, police team recovered 43 grams heroin from the possession of two persons travelling in the auto and arrested them. The auto used to smuggle the consignment has also been seized.
The arrested persons were identified as Gurmeet Singh (45), son of Dayal Singh and Raman Sharma (31), son of Kamal Krishan, both residents of Rani Bagh District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 112/2022 under Section 8/20/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
