Two drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, May 14: Jhajjar Kotli police arrested two drug peddlers along with 4.2 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AC-3074 at Suketar.
During checking, police team recovered 4.2 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Nazir, son of Shafi and Riaz Ahmad, son of Qasim Ahmed, both residents of Chinore District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 90/20 under section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police has requested for support and cooperation from general public to curb the drug menace.
