Two drug peddlers held with poppy straw

RAMBAN, Apr 1: Jawahar Tunnel police arrested two drug peddlers along with poppy straw (bhukhi).
As per police sources, during checking of vehicles, a truck bearing registration number RJ131G- 0113 on way from Valley to Punjab was stopped.
During checking, 10 kilograms poppy straw was found concealed in the specially fabricated fuel tank, which was being smuggled from Kashmir valley to Punjab.
Driver and his associate have been arrested on the spot, who have been identified as Bakshish Singh, son of Kundan Singh and Rajinder Singh, son of Darshan Singh, both residents of Village Piddi, District Taran Taran, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 36/16 under Section 8/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them at police station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Jawahar Tunnel police post SI Gurupal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
