JAMMU, Nov 29: Police in Jammu’s Akhnoor area claimed today they have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered from their possession 620 psychotropic capsules.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, while conducting patrolling at Jia Potta, Akhnoor, spotted two persons in suspicious condition, who tried to run away on seeing the police.
“They were chased and arrested,” he said, adding, “on search of their personal belongings, 620 capsules of Proxywel Spas were recovered.”
The accused identified as Vivek Kumar alias Sunny of Ward Number 8, Akhnoor, and Surinder Pal alias Billa of Dumi Sobka, Tehsil Bhalwal, have been accordingly booked in case FIR number 324/2023 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
