Two drug peddlers held with charas

JAMMU, Jan 1: Police arrested two drug peddlers along with charas at Iqbal Chowk near SK Bridge, falling under the jurisdiction of Gujjar Nagar police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team raised a naka at Iqbal Chowk near SK Bridge and intercepted two pedestrians.
During checking, police recovered 90 grams of charas from the possession of the pedestrians and nabbed them on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Arif Sheikh, son of Mohammad Aslam Sheikh and Rehan Ahmed Kichloo, son of Manzoor Ahmed Kichloo, both residents of Bunasthan, district Kishtwar.
The duos was trying to take the said consignment for selling it to the youths, but police foiled their bid.
A case under FIR Number 1/16 under Section 8/20 narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Pir Mitha and investigation is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Gujjar Nagar police post SI Mohammad Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pir Mitha police station Inspector Javed Akhter, SDPO City Peerbeet Singh, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
