Two drug peddlers held with over 1 kg charas

RAMBAN, Sept 20: Police today arrested two narcotic smugglers along with over 1 kilogram of charas.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Ramban Police Station laid a naka at Meehar on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and apprehended two narcotic smugglers along with 1.150 kilograms charas.
The smugglers have been identified as Sijad Ahmed alias Bittu, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah of Frisal, Kulgam and Gohar Ahmed Wani, son of Ghulam Qadir Wani of Melhora-Harpora, Bijbehara, he informed.
On preliminary interrogation both the accused disclosed that they are in this trade for the last one decade and are supplying charas to the youths of district Ramban, he added.
A case under FIR number 143/13 and under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
