Two drug peddlers taken into preventive custody, lodged in jail

DODA, Aug 22: Doda Police has taken two drug peddlers into preventive custody and lodged them in District Jail Bhaderwah.
As per official sources, a number of complaints were being received at Police Station Doda that two notorious drug peddlers namely Yasir Ahmed Shah alias Thopa, son of Abdul Majid Shah of Sadiqabad (Doda) and Mubashir Hussain, son of Mohd Sharief of Koti Basti (Doda) were involved in drug trafficking besides alluring the young generation to consume drugs and getting them involved in drug addiction.
Acting upon this alarming information, police team swung into action and a detailed report of their involvement in drug addiction as well as involving other youth was prepared by a police party led by SHO Police Station Doda Inspector Arun Parkash.
Both the notorious drug peddlers were apprehended and produced before the Executive Magistrate Class 1st Doda, who sent both the drug peddlers to District Jail Bhaderwah under preventive detention.
It is pertinent to mention here that Doda Police has registered 34 FIRs under NDPS Act in which 36 drug peddlers have been booked. Apart from this, 28 notorious drug peddlers have been detained in Jail so far under preventive measures.
