JAMMU, Mar 25: Under ‘Operation Ploughing’ Police, South Zone here today seized two excavators engaged in unlawful extraction of minerals from River Tawi.
The seizure was made by Police Post Belicharana, under the supervision of senior officers.
Following clear directions from the SSP Jammu and under the supervision of SP City South and SDPO South, cops from Police Post Belicharana intercepted the excavators during their illegal operations.
Upon inquiry, the machines were found to be functioning without valid authorization.
District Mineral Officer (DMO) Jammu has been informed accordingly and appropriate legal action was underway.
